HUMI Denmark
Turning human potential into stronger leadership, well-being, and sustainable performance.

Positioning
Organisational development, grounded in human behaviour.
HUMI is a Danish organisational development and consultancy company specialising in Practical Applied Emotional Intelligence, leadership development, relational competence, team development, and organisational transformation.
We work with the human behaviour that determines whether leadership, collaboration, culture, strategy, and organisational change succeed in practice.
Our purpose is to translate human development into stronger leadership, better communication, psychological safety, collaboration, well-being, and sustainable organisational performance.
The name
HUMI: Human + Mind — grounded in practice.
The name HUMI brings together two central dimensions of human development: Human + Mind. In Latin, humi means "on the ground". For HUMI, this also symbolises a grounded, practical, and applicable approach to human development. Emotional Intelligence should not remain abstract theory. It should be practical and applicable in leadership, collaboration, and everyday organisational life.
Philosophy
HUMI is based on the understanding that people already possess many of the resources and capabilities needed to create meaningful change. HUMI helps people recognise, activate, and apply these resources in practice. That premise shapes every method HUMI uses — and the design of THMEX itself.

The method
Practical Applied Emotional Intelligence.
Self-control is not simply holding back an impulse. In practice it is a sequence a leader can learn, notice and use in the middle of a real situation.
01
Recognise
Notice the emotion as it arrives and name it accurately, rather than acting from it unnoticed.
02
Trace
Identify what may have triggered it — the situation, the person, the pressure or the pattern behind it.
03
Examine
Understand the thoughts and beliefs supporting the emotion, and how they are shaping your reading of the moment.
04
Assess
Decide whether the emotion is helpful in this specific situation, or whether it is working against what you need to do.
05
Regulate
Consciously regulate or shift your emotional state when another response would serve the situation better.
06
Choose
Choose the thoughts, perspectives and actions that support a healthier, more constructive response.
The shift
From reaction to response.

Core principle
Self-regulation is not suppression.
Healthy self-regulation does not mean "I must not feel this."
I can feel this, understand what is happening, and still choose how I want to respond.
HUMI does not teach suppression or forced positivity. Emotions are information; the work is understanding them and deciding what to do next.
Research & evidence
Grounded in practice. Informed by research.
HUMI's approach overlaps with established research areas. A substantial body of research has examined self-control, self-regulation and emotion regulation, and the evidence points to meaningful associations — not guarantees.
Overlapping research areas
- Self-control
- Self-regulation
- Emotion regulation
- Cognitive reappraisal
- Executive control
Research has associated stronger self-regulation and self-control with:
- Psychological well-being
- Emotional regulation
- Relationships
- Goal achievement
- Academic and performance outcomes
- Healthier behaviour
- Long-term life outcomes
These are associations reported in research literature. HUMI makes no claim of causation, and does not offer therapy, clinical psychology or mental-health treatment.
HUMI and THMEX
Where the methodology meets the experience.
THMEX
The broader human-development experience — stages, labs, forums and community around the human questions behind leadership and performance.
HUMI
The practical applied methodology and organisational-development foundation: emotional intelligence, relational competence and leadership behaviour in practice.
The Human Mind Lab
Where self-awareness, emotional intelligence, communication and self-regulation become experiential rather than theoretical.
